Amy Szarkowski directs and supports research, training, and consultation related to families and their children with disabilities or who are deaf (including D/deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, or hard of hearing) through the ICI’s Deaf & Disability in Early Childhood Center. Dr. Szarkowski also leads the professional arm for Fostering Joy, which encourages celebrating the moments of intentional connection with children who are deaf. Amy is passionate about the provision of high-quality early intervention supports for young children who are deaf that help promote optimal child outcomes and family well-being. In addition to her work at ICI, Dr. Szarkowski serves as faculty for the LEND program at Boston Children's Hospital.
